Best exercises to get rid of cellulite

Cellulite is simply a fancy name for fat deposits under the skin. Most women are cursed with cellulites. The unsightly result of this fat storage is often a dimpled and bumpy appearance of cellulite on the hips, thighs, and buttocks. Tackling cellulite requires some perseverance in your exercise regimen and diet to see noticeable results.

Diet is everything

The mantra of eating well cannot be emphasized enough. If cellulite plagues your body, you need to focus first on a proper diet. Lean proteins, plenty of vegetables and fruits, and limiting fat intake is the only way to prevent adding to your fat stores.

A healthy diet works in conjunction with an appropriate exercise regimen to burn the excess fat from your body. Consume plenty of water to help hydrate your body and flush your system, every day, all day.

Why exercise?

Exercise stimulates circulation of fluids throughout the body that results in, you guessed it, more effective fat burning. The best exercise routine combines a cardio workout with target exercises for strength training. All exercise is beneficial for reducing cellulite. Remember that although you might not see immediate lessening in the dimpling of the skin, keep at it. You are burning fat and toning the muscles under the fat. Slow and steady wins the race and in this case, gets the best results.

Cardiovascular Exercise

Always begin every workout, even simple toning exercises, with a warm up. Warm ups prepare your body and heart for stimulation, warming up the muscles to make them more responsive to your workout.

Regular walking, jogging, swimming, or biking is an excellent way to ramp up the body to fight cellulite. Rhythmic and repetitive movement stimulates the muscles and challenges each muscle in sustained movement. Cardio workouts should be part of your regular exercise regimen so commit to exercising 3-5 times a week. The recipe is quite simple. Burn fat with regular exercise and you'll burn cellulite. And you'll prevent more cellulite from forming on your hips, thighs, and legs.

TARGET EXERCISES

Forward lunges

Stand with feet shoulder width apart, head facing forward and shoulders relaxed with hands at the sides. Take a step forward with one foot, firmly planting it on the floor as you bend your knee until your thigh is parallel to the floor. Straighten your bent leg and repeat the movement. Tuck in your tummy. Keep your back straight and your body relaxed. You should aim to complete 2-3 sets of 10 repetitions. If youneed to, work up to this level to see optimal results.

Side lunges-Stand with feet together.

Take a big step sideways, keeping your foot forward while bending your knee to 90 degrees so your thigh is parallel to the floor. Tense your butt and thigh muscles during this movement. Your weight should center squarely over your foot without leaning forward or backward. Straighten your leg and continue performing your repetitions. Remember to focus on proper posture as you complete 2-3 sets of 10 reps.

Step ups

All you need is the bottom stair and the will to do this challenging exercise. Grab the railing for balance. Focus on perfect posture with head facing forward, shoulders relaxed and aligned, and a straight back. Step up onto the step with your right foot, bringing the left foot up next to the right. Tighten your glutes and thigh muscles with the movement. Step back down to complete one full movement. Seems easy? Try performing this exercise for 5 minutes. Your cellulite will be a thing of the past!

Remember that your level of fitness is your own so do what you can do safely. Extreme muscle fatigue isn't your goal but rather an overall feeling of happy tiredness. Complete every workout with 10 minutes of cool down activities. After cool down, include some gentle stretching. Stretching lengthens muscles and increases flexibility.

Cellulite describes a condition that is claimed to occur in most women, where the skin of the lower limbs, abdomen, and pelvic region becomes dimpled after puberty. The term was first used in the 1920s and began appearing in English language publications in the late 1960s, the earliest reference in Vogue magazine, "Like a swift migrating fish the word cellulite has suddenly crossed the Atlantic." Its existence as a real disorder has been questioned, and the prevailing medical opinion is that it is merely the "normal condition of many women and some men". One cosmetic company has noted its historical place in industrialised societies as an "inappropriate term used by women to describe curves which they judge to be too plump and not very aesthetic"... Cellulite-Busting Exercises - Use an Elliptical Trainer

Upto 80% of women are affected by cellulite. Yet there is still no definite solution that seems to work for everyone. But one thing that all the experts agree on is that exercise can help you improve the appearance of your skin. This is because you increase the circulation. One of the best forms of exercise for women of all ages is to use an elliptical trainer.

The reason that cellulite occurs is still poorly understood but it is believed to be due to a build up of toxins and the fatty deposits in the skin. But things are likely to be worse if you are stressed, eat fatty foods, drink loads of coffee and sit around all day.

One of the most effective ways to help improve your skin is to exercise. This can help improve the circulation, which removes the toxins, and helps bring fresh nutrients to the cells of the body. An indirect benefit of exercise is that it can help reduce stress levels. So exercising can help with a couple of the aggravating factors of cellulite.

An elliptical trainer is very easy to use. You just need to push the pedals with your feet and work the handlebars with your arms. The smooth elliptical motion of the equipment means that there is no jolting of the joints as occurs with exercises such as jogging.

As you workout you are increasing the circulation to all areas of the body including the extremities and the skin. This helps to flush out toxins that can lead to cellulite.

Elliptical trainers can be found at most gyms and health clubs. They are also available for home use. If you are using an elliptical trainer at home, it will fit in with your lifestyle quite easily. You can even watch the TV as you exercise.

How to Beat Cellulite

Most people refer to Cellulite as the fatty deposits that form uneven, wrinkled, dimply skin found on the thighs, hips and buttocks of many women. Even when fat is lost from other body areas, cellulite remains and will actually be the last fat to be lost, because it occurs only when damaged fatty tissue accumulates.

Surprisingly, cellulite is formed when connective tissues beneath the skin that shape the fat become weak and deformed due to poor circulation.

For many years it was thought that cellulite was caused by obesity, which begged the question - why then was it found on skinny women? In fact it is found on the vast majority of woman of any weight today. Although it is the fat bulging upwards that causes the irregularity in skin appearance, the root cause is thought to be the weakening of the tiny blood and lymph drainage vessels that maintain a fresh supply of nutrients in the tissues as well as removing damaging metabolic by-products.

This results in damage to the connective tissue that shapes the fat and keeps it from bulging outwards. Although by reducing the fat, one can reduce the appearance of cellulite, it does not eliminate the cause, nor does it remove the look.

Different Theories for Causes of Cellulite:

• Circulation damage

• An Excess of free radicals

• Digestion Issues

• Hormonal imbalances - particularly excess estrogen

• Poor lymphatic circulation due to lack of exercise

• Over exertion

• Build up of toxins due to a poor diet

Cellulite doesn't discriminate. It is fairly common on girls in their teens or even younger. That's because cellulite is simply old-fashioned fat. It just looks different because of differences in how it's arranged.

Everyone has strands of connective tissue that separate and compartmentalize fat cells and connect fat to skin. In women, these fibers become a honeycomb-shaped pattern, so any increase of fat tends to bulge out not unlike stuffing in a mattress. We see less cellulite in men because their fibers run horizontally, in essence forming something that resembles a criss-cross pattern that ultimately prevents bulging or dimpling.

Though cellulite can manifest at any age, cellulite seem to appear out of nowhere and worsen with age. That's because our tissues change. The strands of connective tissue have a tendency to thicken with age, causing our skin to get thinner, making cellulite that much more noticeable. We also gain fat with age. Conventional wisdom dictates that the average woman will lose approximately 5 pounds of muscle only to be replaced with about 15 pounds of fat every decade.

The trick to beat cellulite is to eat a healthy diet to keep the toxins and fat down, and combined with the right exercise plan, you can reduce your cellulite and make your lower body look smoother and firmer. To be able to see a noticeable different takes 6 to 8 weeks of exercise.

To attack cellulite directly, you need to work all your lower body muscles from every angle, reducing the underlying fat stores and replacing lost muscle tissue to give the area a taut, toned appearance overall.
